Rainy Evenings & Window Chai
Izhaar Malik
There’s something about rain in Bangalore that slows everything down.
The sky turns grey, the air gets cooler, and the world outside my window begins to blur behind soft droplets of rain. That’s when I reach for my chai.
It’s never rushed. Never hurried.
I like to take my time — watching the tea simmer, letting the aroma fill the room. Cardamom, ginger, and the warmth of milk blending together into something that feels like a quiet hug.
I sit by the window, cup in hand, as raindrops race down the glass. People outside rush to find shelter, but I stay right where I am — still, present, and completely at peace.
My chai becomes more than just a drink in those moments. It becomes company.
A companion to my thoughts, my pauses, my little escapes from the noise of everyday life.
Because sometimes, the best conversations are the ones you have with yourself — with a cup of chai in hand, and rain softly playing in the background.
